Tick Tock I Smell a Rock..
Hello all my friends! Happy Saturday to you. It's always a happy day for me. The weekends are much more fun cause I get to have my family all day. The only thing I really don't care for is them sleeping in on Saturdays. You know us dogs have an internal clock. We know our families schedule. When 6:30 am rolls around they don't need an alarm clock (TICK TOCK) to wake them up. I usually beat the alarm clock. About 2 mins before it goes off I doodle on in to my moms side of the bed and give her the biggest lick. It's my "wake up" lick. She then opens her eyes says her good morning to me with a tickle behind my ears and she's off. She gets in mom mode. Gets us all straight. I get my pill inside some yummy cheese and get to go outside. My mom gets the rest of my gang out the door for school and my dad goes to work. Saturday and Sundays is different. I go in right before 6:30 am and give my mom the same "wake up" lick..she opens her eyes and tells me to go back to bed..I look at her trying to use my big brown eyes to get her out of the bed, but that doesn't even work. The thing is, us dogs like routine. I just can't wait til it's time to get up...I am ready to get my day started. I have things I want to do, things I need to sniff, certain places I need to pee on. I am ready to go..
My mom left me today. It was only for a little while. There is no such thing as little while for us dogs. You leave us for a couple of minutes and we start planning our escape. I don't want to be left alone. I want to go with my family. You know my mom turns on the Animal Planet when she leaves. It makes her feel good that I can hear other dogs woofing and howling, birds chirping, cats meowing and all the other noises that go on that channel. It gives me no comfort..what gives me comfort is going into my mom and dads room looking for a shirt on the floor, cause I can never escape, so at least I can cuddle up with their smell. Then start waiting for their return. Talk about smells....my mom came home. I was so excited. Freaking all out like I haven't seen her in years. Jump up to give her a hug and picked up a SMELL.....a d-o-g smell. Can you believe that? Waiting and waiting..meet her with excitement and I smell she was with another dog? I bet petting and tickling him behind the ear. Telling him who's a good boy...that don't go with me. We don't like to share our moms and dads. No doodling way!! Well, I mean if she took me to the dog park and I was with her, it would be fine! I would get to play with other dogs and I wouldn't care that she had 10 tons of dog smell on her..I would too!!
I thought my day was shot when I smelled my mom was loving on another dog, but she made it up to me. She took me for a long walk. She took me to my favorite spots so I could get a good sniff and see what the rest of the neighborhood dogs have been up to. Make sure there were no new dogs that moved in since yesterday. There were a couple of big ROCKS I tried to wrestle with, a squirrel I spotted, a got to dig a hole and go to the field. I didn't stay long at the field cause I decided I wanted to try and find some geese without my moms permission. Yeah..I was a bad boy. I got too far ahead of her and she didn't like that. So, she put me back on the leash. Hey, I'm still a pup..I'm "testing my boundaries" as you guys call it..
Thanks for reading what I did today.! I am feeling better and better with each day! Tuesday i go see Dr. G. He is going to check out my infection. My mom says she thinks it will be the end of next month for my surgery. I am keeping my paws crossed that by August or beginning of Sept. I will be back to playing with all my friends.
Please check out The Doodle Messenger website when you can. It gives you my story and how to donate to my surgery. It gives you the address and phone number to my vet so you can write a check to them or call their office to pay by credit card. The Doodle Messenger has other doodles on there too that need help. Please read their stories too!
